Careers Education and Guidance

The Hurst School is committed to developing workplace skills alongside academic skills.

Careers Education and Guidance has an essential role to play in preparing students for choices, changes and transitions they will encounter as they become adults. The school’s Careers Leader oversees the Careers Programme and liaises with relevant agencies. Please see contact details at the bottom of the page.

At The Hurst, students follow a detailed plan of career guidance to prepare them for their next steps when they leave us. We want their time at school to have provided them with the skills and knowledge to make the choices that are best for them.

Through our Careers Programme we provide the best possible careers education, information, advice and guidance to all our students in line including:

  • up-to-date information about the local employment market;
  • independent and impartial careers guidance;
  • opportunities to meet employers
  • opportunity for work experience;
  • curriculum links to real-world careers.

The document below contains information about a programme of careers events we run throughout the academic year split by year group. Due to the current climate, some events may be virtual.
