Careers Education
Preparing young people for life after school is crucial for both individual success and societal prosperity, whether their next step is college, an apprenticeship or employment.
The world of work is constantly evolving, with new technologies and industries emerging every day. Young people need to be prepared to adapt to these changes, which means developing not only their academic and technical skills but also a set of transferable soft skills: communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving and resilience.
Making decisions about future careers, further education, training and work is challenging and somewhat daunting when you are still at school. It has therefore become increasingly important that our students, teachers and parents/carers are provided with high quality careers advice and guidance concerning future study options and employment opportunities.
We are proud at The Hurst to have secured the services of a qualified Careers Advisor from Hampshire Futures, we also have our own Careers Leader on-site at school to organise a full programme of career-related activities and guide our students when they need additional assistance. It is important to us that every student who leaves The Hurst is equipped with the skills and knowledge to take an active part in life in modern Britain.
