The school is looking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Head of Department to lead a collegiate and enthusiastic team. The team consists of 3 teachers and they deliver IT across KS3. Business and Computing is taught to KS4 Option classes, alongside a BTEC in Digital Information Technology.
The person appointed will indisputably need to be:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of PE to lead and inspire our students in a dynamic and thriving department, promoting a love of sport and physical fitness across all year groups.
Our PE Department is known for its excellence in teaching and learning, in addition to a strong co-curricular provision with clubs running before, during and after school. Students enjoy competing in external sports fixtures across a variety of sports and House sport plays a key role in the wider life of school. PE is a very popular course choice, with BTEC, and GCSE consistently delivering some excellent results. The Department boasts superb facilities, 2 sports halls, huge playing fields, cricket nets, gym, fitness suite and our new 3G pitch.
This role focuses on providing high quality, strategic leadership and management. The successful candidate will work in partnership with other middle leaders to ensure that the highest standards are set. You will be able to articulate a strategic vision for the PE department and will monitor, evaluate and improve attainment and progress of all our students. The post holder will be involved in the formulation of policies and practices which will develop learning and quality first in order to support and sustain improvements.

The History/PDL Department at The Hurst is a committed team of passionate, experienced teachers, with high expectations of ourselves and our classes, who aim to ensure students investigate the importance of key events, scientific developments, personalities and ideas over time, accessing a wide and varied curriculum in Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Department has regularly secured good outcomes at GCSE in History, and is focused on improving progress for all students across the whole ability range.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join our group of professional and dynamic History/PDL staff to deliver the KS3 and KS4 History/PDL curriculum. You should be willing to share our values of Respect, Commitment, Ambition, Community and Excellence. We work very collegiately in order to share expertise and reduce additional workload.
Located mostly on the upper floor of the Art and Humanities Block, the department has 4 dedicated History/PDL classrooms, an intervention space and staff work area. History/PDL teaching spaces are well-equipped with texts and resources, projectors and sound systems.
