Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school is situated in a stunning rural location on Berkshire-Hampshire border with easy access from Basingstoke, Reading, Newbury and surrounding areas.

The English Department at The Hurst is a committed team of passionate, experienced teachers, with high expectations of ourselves and our classes, who aim to empower students with a mastery of language and to enrich them through the study of literature, accessing a wide and varied curriculum in Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Department has regularly secured good outcomes at GCSE in both English Language and Literature, and progress made by students across the whole ability range is improving.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join our group of professional and dynamic English staff to deliver the KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature curriculum.
