Religious Studies students will be challenged with questions about belief, values, meaning, purpose and truth, enabling them to develop their own attitudes towards ethical and religious issues.

Students will also gain an appreciation of how religion, philosophy and ethics form the basis of our culture. They will develop analytical and critical thinking skills as they discuss and debate key ethical issues. These skills will help prepare them for further study and be able to think critically about the world around them.

The main areas of study are Christianity and Hinduism, Relationships and Families, Crime and Punishment, Religion and Life and Human Rights and Social Justices. By studying these areas at GCSE students will be able to become religiously informed, engaged citizens and have a key understanding of contemporary issues in British society.Students follow the AQA GCSE course.
